Let our team of SysAdmins update your server's packages and kernel
We all know that having the latest updates is really important, this applies for almost anything in the world of technology, CMS, php, apache, nginx, etc.
But what about servers? It does too, having server's packages and kernel up to date is really important. After all, they are the base of everything hosted there, so, if they are vulnerable, everything there is too.
As we have stated before, by purchasing System Update we will update all the packages and the kernel of your server, so you won't have to worry about it. This will improve its performance and security as well.

Since we will be performing the update, all the configurations are on us, we will make sure everything is made in the right way, this way your server will be in the hands of experts and not someone inexperienced.

Since we know what we are doing, the chance of something going wrong is pretty low. If something does go wrong we will fix it, and it will probably had happened even if the kernel hadn't been updated.

The kernel is the central core of your server, it has all the control and because of it having it up-to-date is very important. In fact, not doing it is a really bad security vulnerability that could end up breaking your whole system down.

With the update besides improved packages there will also be new ones that you will be able to use from the minute the update is finished.

Since we are talking about the update of not only important packages but the kernel itself, making a mistake can lead you to have your server offline for hours.
All of this, until you ether find the issue and fix it, hire someone to do it for you, or in the worst case scenario be force to start all over again because you can't get it back.
Is no secret that having the latest updates is important, they fix vulnerabilities, security holes, and implement new and more effective ways of defending against threats.
And all of this is even more important taking into account that it's the update of basic packages and kernel, things that are vital for your server to work properly.
We are Sysadmins that have been working with linux for a long time, we have updated thousands of servers and we know exactly which steps to take.
We already stated that these are the very basics of your server, if a mistake is made, your whole system could go down. It's definitely something that you should leave to experts.
As well as new security fixes, there are also fixes for performance and speed.
With every update not only security holes are fixed but also more effective ways of doing thins too, which means that with the latest updates you will be taking the best performance and speed you can get out of your server.
To be able to update your server, we will first of all need to access it. Once in, we will make a couple configurations to make sure that the update won't affect critical services as: PHP, MySQL, Apache/Nginx, etc. After all the configurations are done, we will proceed with the update, which will usually take a couple of minutes to be completed.
Once the update has been effectuated, the server will need to be rebooted in order for it to take in the changes. However, we will schedule the best reboot time with you to prevent downtime in high traffic hours, so you don't have to worry about it. Once rebooted and back, your server will be updated as well as running the latest kernel and packages.
This process in expert hands its pretty quickly actually, it should take a couple of minutes if everything goes well. Of course, it will also depend on how much time your server has been outdated, if it has been a while, it can take more time since it will have to update more packages, but usually it doesn't take too long.
However since your server needs to be rebooted, even if the downtime expected is of five minutes only, there is a chance that it will need more time, in case for example that needs to do a disk check before coming back completely.
A reboot is necessary, so your server will in fact be offline at some point, otherwise it won't take in the changes made. However, we will schedule the reboot with you, to prevent downtime in high traffic hours, besides the downtime expected is only five minutes.
